Bass drums are generally produced from a single bit of tree trunk, generally mango or cedar, and that is hollowed out by possibly lathe or hand. More mature, much larger drums were fabricated from the dense but gentle pounds cottonwood tree which is rarely discovered right now. Some bass drum sh
